Nelson community group wants
a return to bottle deposits
as a way of reducing New Zealand's
mountain of glass.
Spokesman
Duncan Eddy says the country's
glass recycling capacity has reached
its limit, with thousands of tonnes
of crushed glass sent to Australia
this year.
He
wants the Tasman District Council
to lobby other councils around
New Zealand to return to the
system of paying for returned
bottles.
